| LeAnne zipping zip line |
Day 6 (12/27): Today's agenda looks something like this: Eat
breakfast, lose your breakfast, eat lunch, lose your lunch... So, after
breakfast we headed to the "flying
fox", a 750 ft zipline. You crawl through a suspended wooden tunnel, walk
across two ropelines and then you grab hold and fly down the zipline about 40
feet off the ground. A little tenuous but a great adrenaline rush and, of
course, perfectly safe because you are harnessed in and attached with a safety
line but still good fun. We were bothered by more light rain today and,
unfortunately, the weather was too yucky for flying. Our plane trip past
White Island, an active volcano off the coast, was turned into a road trip
through New Zealand countryside. We stopped at the Agrodome for a sheep show. We saw a large
variety of sheep, a sheep being shorn, milked a cow and herding dogs herding
ducks. We proceeded to our lodging for the next two days, Kawaha Point Lodge.
We've taken over the entire lodge, a splendid inn with views of Lake Rotorua
and a fabulous garden.
